Pool Tips on Pool Cleaners - Hayward Pool Vac UltraReplacing Pod ShoesAs the cleaners pod shoes start to wear thin, a couple things happen. First the cleaner body sits too close to the bottom of the pool and more of the suction grabs the bottom of the pool making it harder for it to move through the pool. Secondlly, when the pod shoes are thin it reduces the cleaners traction. Eventually the Pool Vac will not be moving at all. If you notice the Hayward Pod Shoes are wearing thin, follow these simple tips to replace them. Purchase replacement Hayward Pool Vac Pod Shoes. Remove Old Pod Shoes - simply place a small flat head screwdriver underneath each shoe and carefully pry the old shoe out of the two retention holes. Install New Pod Shoes - first place a small amount of multi purpose silicone lubricant such as Magic Lube or Lube Tube on the two knobs of each of the four pod shoes. Then carefully press the shoes into the retention holes on the pods until they fit snuggly. Notice that the two knobs are of different sizes and be sure to match them up with the retention holes on the pods. Thats it! Place the Pool Vac back into the pool and test it out. If this doesn't fix the problem see our other troubleshooting tips to help you find the problem.
