Add Chlorine During Winter Months

When you read the instructions for most Salt Pool Chlorinators, they will point out that the Salt Chlorinator stops producing chlorine when the pool's water temperature gets too cold. This may lead you to believe that the pool will be okay during these months without any chlorine.

A better idea is to supplement the pool with chlorine in the winter months when the salt chlorine generator is not producing chlorine. Throwing a 3-inch chlorine tablet in the skimmer basket or adding a gallon of liquid chlorine will usually do the trick and help to keep the pool water sanitized and crystal clear all winter long.
