Articles on Automatic Pool CleanersPentair Legend Pool Cleaner On Its SideThe Pentair Legend and Legend Platinum Pool Cleaners can be an excellent tool that will keep the bottom of a residential swimming pool free of debris all year long. When the Legend pool cleaner starts acting funny by falling or lying on it's side, the fix is usually very simple. Legend Debris Bag Is Full - the most common reason the Legend pool cleaner will fall on it's side is when the debris bag gets full. A full debris bag will simply be too heavy for the cleaner and the weight will push it on its side. Empty and clean the cleaner bag and retest. Ballast Float is Damaged - with the pool cleaner off, remove the cleaner from the pool and remove the Ballast float. The float is normally very light in weight, but if the Legend is running on its side due to the float, it will be filled with water. As the ballast floats get old, they will break or develop a crack in them and fill up with water. The weight of the water will force the cleaner on it's side. Toys or Debris Stuck in the Cleaner Wheels - sometimes the Legend pool cleaner run on it's side when a toy or some large debris is stuck in one of the wheels. Remove the cleaner from the pool and inspect it for toys or large debris. A Legend Pool Cleaner running on its side is usually a simple problem to fix. If the troubleshooting tips above do not solve the problem, call or stop by a local pool store for advice.
